The Pop-Up Selection

From our time at the Askew Gallery, in Spring 2025 here are the favourites which you can order to continue to enjoy at home, or gift to someone else.

Sparkling

E’loquente, Jean de la Fontaine

  • The grapes are hand harvested and carefully transported to the winery, where they are pressed using a pneumatic press, after which each variety is vinified separately. The winery is fully thermo-regulated. They have invested in cutting edge equipment which allows them to work with minimal intervention in order to express best their terroir. All wines are vinified according to the traditional method and aged for between 3 to 4 years in the cellar before release.

  • A beautifully elegant wine showcasing the Pinot Meunier grape variety at 65% of this blend. It has great structure and finesse with lovely fruit flavours of green apples and pears.

Ideal as an aperitif or a perfect match for shellfish!

White

Gruner Veltliner ‘24

  • Organic Certified, Besas Grüner Veltliner emerges from Austria's terraced vineyards, rooted in dry, limy gravel soils. These unique terroirs impart a distinctive character—bold body and a solid backbone—accentuated by mineral-rich flavours and a refreshing acidic structure.

  • This wine is of medium intensity and green-yellow in color. Pepper can easily be detected on the nose, suggestive of the typical Grüner spiciness whilst the palate is expressive of aromatic herbs and stone fruit, with a dense and complex structure.

Albariño ‘24

  • The average age of vines is 30 years. Alcoholic fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, 3 months of maturation on the lees, the wine is then bottled and released in the spring of the following year.

  • The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (100% Prugnolo Gentile) is another big, powerful wine loaded with dark fruit, leather, spices and earthiness. This generous, cask-aged Vino Nobile builds on the finish as the tannins come to life, but the balance is unquestionably outstanding.

Bonkers MV

  • Independent, artisan winemakers who live and breathe what we do on a daily basis. All their wines are small production, hand-made, and typically aged for 5-to-10 years before release. They are low in sulphites, always vegetarian and vegan. Made with sustainable viticulture: we believe in and respect the soil beneath our feet.

  • Bonkers is a multi-dimensional, solera-aged Chardonnay: rich, creamy and savoury with
a nutty, honeyed complexity from its elevage in large and small barrels, old and new.

A touch of carefully controlled oxidation is balanced by a freshness and fine structure,
offering delicious drinking now, as well as potential for ageing.

Etna Bianco ‘23

  • From two different vineyards, 70% of the Carricante grapes are from Sant’Alfio on the Eastern slopes of Etna, and 30% from Contrada Cuba on the North face of the volcano.

Manual harvest of the Carricante grapes in the cool hours of the early morning to preserve freshness. After the de-stemming, the grapes are gently pressed, and after 48 hours of natural settling, the juice ferments in stainless steel tank using selected yeasts.

Aging on the fine lees for 6 months in stainless steel with weekly battonages.

3 months bottle refinement before release.

  • The colour is light and bright, with pale green reflections. The nose shows notes of white flowers, citrus fruit and freshly cut grass. On the palate, you get ripe yellow fruit and citrus, an aromatic edge, and salty minerality. Very elegant and clean, with a long persistent finish.
