Why give?

  • Help us bring our aim to life : a reimagined flower & wine shop that becomes the heart of the community, supports those making positive impact in the world and reawakens what the highstreet can be.

  • Stems & Vines blends founder, Philippa’s two big passions: 15 years worth of running restaurants, working in wine focused venues & events, followed by 7 years of being part of the London Flower Industry. This is the best of both - all under one perfectly formed roof.

  • The Florals: Wild, Abundant & Seasonal arrangements. Where possible using the best of British grown blooms. There will be many a workshop you can get involved with. And we will always work in a way that minimises negative impact to the world.

  • The Wine: A seasonal changing list, celebrating those producers who are making sustainable choices. Crowd pleasers alongside interesting & challenging bottles. Served by confident & knowledgable staff, who are happy to see you.

  • Because we will need, chairs, bar stools, tiles for the walls, fridges for the wine & the olives, glasses, a till, a sink, lights, paint and a workbench. There are also some big infrastructural elements that we need to have in place to open, and the quotes for everything are building up.

  • To feel part of something.
To know that you were vital in the bringing to life of this space on your high street in West London. We will be a joyful and exciting place, ready to welcome you, for flowers or for wine, with us or to take away and enjoy elsewhere.

We have a Crowdfunder Campaign but you can also make a direct donation

Every penny of donated funds will be going towards the fit-out of the shop, and getting it up and running;

  • the air-con unit (to keep the flowers cool)

  • an awning for the shop front (for someone who has always shared a space, having my own window, awning & frontage I think is the most exciting part)

  • wine fridges, glass washer, ice & coffee machines - the elements that will really heighten the experience (for the customers and the staff)

  • our opening stock

  • decoration materials, hardware goods & technology: paint, tiles, wood, material, foam for seating, light fittings, chairs, stools, storage cabinets etc.

  • Your support helps build:

    • A planet-friendly flower shop using sustainable materials and methods.

    • An ethical wine bar spotlighting responsible producers.

    • A rich events calendar (tastings, workshops, masterclasses).

    • Inviting interiors—from shelves to seating—that bring the space to life

  • The campaign is live until 14th September 2025 at 6:00 pm. After that, pledges are processed and used toward opening.

  • We are aiming for a September open - it may well be that we open the flower shop first, and follow shortly along with the wine cafe after that.

  • You can:

  • Founded by Philippa Smith, who is blending years of restaurant & wine bar experience with a blossoming London floristry career.

  • Philippa dreamed of combining floristry with wine—born from an inspiration during a drive through French vineyards—and finally realised that vision in West London.

Also the fact that flowers have stems, but also you have the stem of a wine glass; and then wine is grown on vines, and some of Philippa’s favourite flowers are from vine plants (jasmine, clematis).
In addition to this, she found there was a similar joyful feeling of being passed a bouquet of flowers or a glass of wine and that’s what we want you to experience when you visit us in-house or receive a delivery from us.
