More about this wine: Lagar de Costa Albariño is made from 100% Albariño grapes. The vines are located right on the Galician coast, some just a few meters from the sea, giving the wines a unique maritime characteristic. The soils are made up of granite and sandy loam which results in wines of considerable minerality. The vines are trained high using the Pergola method in order to prevent mildew and sea fog from the humidity. Fermentation happens in stainless steel tank and the wine is then aged on the lees for three months before being bottled and released the following Spring.

More about this vineyard: From coastal vineyards in the region of Rías Baixas, Northern Spain, this is the hallmark Albariño for family owned, small production winery Lagar de Costa. A deliciously refreshing wine of real finesse, salty, herbal, citrus and aromatic. This wine speaks beautifully of its unique terroir, the saline minerality and exceptional freshness from the Atlantic influences. Their philosophy is that their wines represent the area and its terroir and they achieve that effortlessly in this Albariño. A summertime sensation, this wine will take you straight to the coast at first sip. Lemony freshness, grapefruit, tropical notes. It can be drunk as an aperitif but really no wine pairs better with seafood than this; prawns, octopus, lobster, mussels and so on, so dust off the old platter and enjoy!
